What To Do With Power

We’ve been given great and glorious power. It is immeasurable. It is infinite. It is like the working of God’s mighty power when he raised Jesus up from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all power and authority, rule and dominion, and every title that can be given, not only in the present age, but also in the one to come. And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus.

We have mighty power. We have great power. We have all power. And we were not made to hold it. For how can a jar hold more water than it can fit? If the water cannot be measured, how can a single jar hold it? How can any number of jars hold it? For if the jars could hold it, then it could be measured. But say for a moment that you insisted upon forcing the immeasurable power into a clay jar. What would happen? The jar would break under the pressure.

We were not made to hold this immeasurable power. We were made to be conduits through which power flows. The power was given freely, now freely we must give. We were made to be like the lightening benders, the ones who redirect plasma even as it comes toward them. We were made to invite this power with lifted hands and release it through our feet, hands, mouths, ears, and every member of our body.

And the church is the body of Christ. The church is the fullness of him who fills everything in every way. The church is not made to hold the power of God--this immeasurable power at work within us which is able to do infinitely more than we ask or imagine. The church is made to be filled with the power of Christ and then release that power into the world that the world may be blessed and turn to worship God. We are made to be conduits, not containers. 

Things to pray for:

That I would rely on the Holy Spirit to guide me and would obey him in every way knowing that if he tells me to do something, I may do it in freedom and confidence and without fear of what anyone will think of me. 

Healing in my family and in each member of my family. 

Boldness and opportunity to share the gospel.
